The town of Bebee, Arkansas woke up on New Year's Day to 5,000 dead and dying redwing blackbirds covering the ground. Along the Arkansas River, 125 miles away, an estimated 100,000 dead drum fish washed up on the shores. Today, January 4, some 500 dead redwing blackbirds littered a quarter mile of highway in Louisiana. No one knows what is happening.
