SUMMER SOLSTICE
Nearly 20,000 visitors to Stonehenge saw the sun rise at 4.52 a.m. on summer solstice day. A number of druids, hippies and sun worshippers practised their rituals at the site.

IMMORTAL JELLYFISH
The Turritopsis nutricula is known as the "immortal jellyfish" because even once sexually mature, it can revert back to its polypoid stage, its first life stage. And then rinse and repeat. Again and again.

SMOKE THE SEAL
Smoke, a 39 year old harbor seal in captivity at the New England Aquarium is presented with a special present for her birthday in
Boston, MA. Like many people of such advanced age, the seal has very limited vision. Life expectancy for most seals is the mid-20’s. Happy birthday, Smoke! Personal note: I can't wait to meet seals in Iceland.
